The National PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer
association in the United States working exclusively on behalf of children
and youth. For 100 years, the National PTA has promoted the education,
health, and safety of children and families.
The Children First web site offers a wealth of information for parents, teachers and
other child advocates. You can review extensive libraries of PTA materials on a wide
variety of topics, including parenting skills, leadership development, nurturing
creativity, HIV/AIDS education, legislative issues, PTA membership information, and much
more. You can also use the site to interact with other PTA leaders and members via
e-mail, online discussion groups and online chat rooms. The National PTA also offers
two subscription-based web sites focusing on PTA management issues and general child
advocacy.

A Busy Parent

A Busy Parent is intended to give families an easy resource to explore the
Internet. Web sites are recommended covering topics kids typically need to
learn about. For each topic a brief description of the site is offered, along
with a time estimate for viewing the site. Sites chosen are interesting to
adults as well as children, thus encouraging parents to spend time exploring
with their kids.
