Connecticut PTA officials threw a "surprise party" at the state Capitol on August 13, 2003, for Linda Hodge, the first Connecticut resident to rise to the top office of the National Parent-Teacher Association. Linda thought she was coming to the Capitol on a lobbying mission. Instead, she was greeted by a number of former state PTA presidents, PTA officers and members, state representatives and an aide to U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, R-2. Kevin Daly, Connecticut PTA President, said the state is fortunate to have Linda leading the organization. "She has a reputation for knowing what to do." [ Top ]
