ANNOUNCEMENT
February 23, 2002
National
Sleep Awareness Week
The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) is preparing for its fifth consecutive
National Sleep Awareness Week campaign, April 1 - April 7; the week
before Daylight Savings Time when Americans "lose" a precious hour of sleep.
This comprehensive and award-winning public education campaign
is setting the standard for generating tremendous media, consumer and public
policy interest in sleep and fatigue-related issues. Each year, NSF forms a
growing coalition of health and safety organizations, state and federal
agencies, and companies to urge all Americans to recognize how good sleep
contributes to their health, safety and productivity. NSF and its partners
invite your organization to join us in speaking directly to millions of
Americans who need to learn more about sleep issues by becoming a Cooperative
Co-Sponsor of NSAW 2002.
Each year, National Sleep Awareness Week (NSAW) "opens
America's eyes to the importance of sleep" through the release of its revealing
and thought-provoking Sleep in America poll results. Previous polls have shed
light on sleep and fatigue issues on our nation's highways, in the workplace and
in our schools. In addition to these important issues and questions about sleep
disorders diagnosis and treatment, the focus of this year's poll and campaign
will be on the role sleep plays in our daily lives, performance and emotional
state. NSAW is not only the country's largest sleep awareness event, it
is also the ideal vehicle to advance the related mission and goals of leading
organizations affected by sleep deprivation and fatigue.
There is no charge for this partnership opportunity. Through
National Sleep Awareness Week, your organization gains direct access to this
program and the opportunity to increase awareness among your employees and
constituencies. We are confident that you can build on this event to promote
greater public recognition of the importance of sleep and fatigue issues among
your membership, employees, and clients and we will help provide the tools to do
it.
As a Cooperative Co-Sponsor, NSF will provide you with:
