Probably the most important committee in any PTA is the nominating
committee. This group of people is charged with finding the best
candidates for office in a PTA and then bringing that slate to the
membership. A PTA’s future is in the nominating committee’s hands.
According to Connecticut PTA Bylaws, "a nominating committee
consisting of five members shall be elected at least six months before
the election of officers." This state nominating committee includes
two members and two alternates from the CT PTA Executive Committee and
three members and three alternates from the board of directors who are
not currently serving on the Executive Committee.
At the September 23, 2000 meeting of the Connecticut PTA Board of
Directors, the following members were elected to the Connecticut PTA
Nominating Committee:
